Piano Lessons in Bradenton
& Lakewood Ranch, FL

Learning to play the piano is one of the most rewarding things a person can do at any age.

At Premier Music Academy, our private piano lessons are offered at both our North Lakewood Ranch and East Bradenton locations — serving students of all ages and skill levels across Manatee County and the surrounding communities.

Our experienced instructors guide students through proper posture and hand positioning, sight-reading, scales, music theory, and expressive playing from the very first lesson. Whether your child is a complete beginner or you’re an adult returning to an instrument you’ve always loved, we personalize every lesson to where you are — and where you want to go. We teach classical, contemporary, jazz, pop, and worship styles, and we take pride in making every lesson engaging, encouraging, and fun.

WHAT TO EXPECT

your first lesson

Your first lesson is all about getting to know each other. Your instructor will assess your current level, talk through your goals, and introduce the foundational concepts that will shape your learning journey — proper seating, hand position, the layout of the keyboard, and how to read basic notation.

developing skills

Over your first several weeks, you’ll begin building real skills: finding notes by ear and by sight, playing simple melodies with both hands, and developing the finger independence that makes everything else possible. Progress is steady, visible, and genuinely exciting — especially for young students playing their first recognizable song.

goal focused coaching

As you advance, lessons incorporate music theory, chord progressions, improvisation, and style-specific techniques. Students interested in performance will work toward recitals and showcases. Students preparing for school auditions or conservatory programs receive dedicated, goal-oriented coaching.

LESSONS & SCHEDULING

flexible lessons built around your schedule.

Our piano lessons are available in 30, 45, and 60-minute formats — designed to fit the age, experience level, and goals of each student. Most beginners start with 30-minute sessions and progress to longer lessons as their skills develop. We recommend 60-minute lessons for intermediate and advanced students working toward performance or audition goals.

We’re open Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at both our North Lakewood Ranch and East Bradenton locations. Flexible rescheduling and a friendly enrollment process make it easy to get started and keep going.

FAQ

We begin piano instruction as early as age 5. For younger children (ages 2-4), our Tots & Tunes program is a wonderful introduction to music and rhythm before transitioning to formal lessons.

We recommend having a keyboard or piano at home for daily practice — consistent practice is the single biggest factor in progress. A basic digital keyboard with 61 keys is a great affordable starting point. We’re happy to advise on what to look for before you buy.

Most students play their first recognizable melody within the first 2-4 lessons. We prioritize early wins because seeing real results early keeps students motivated and excited to keep going.

Absolutely. A large portion of our students are adults learning for the first time. Our instructors are experienced working with adult learners and know how to make the process efficient, enjoyable, and rewarding.

30-minute lessons work well for young beginners who are building focus and foundational skills. 45 and 60-minute lessons are ideal for students making faster progress, working on more complex repertoire, or preparing for performances and auditions.
