Premier Music Academy

Studio Policies & Enrollment Terms

Everything you need to know about lessons with us.

where music grows with you

Last revised July 30, 2026Bradenton, Florida(941) 877-5277

These Studio Policies govern enrollment at Premier Music Academy, operated by Lakewood Ranch Music Academy LLC d/b/a Premier Music Academy (“the Academy,” “we,” “us”). In these policies, “you” means the enrolling adult student, or the parent or legal guardian of an enrolled minor student.

These policies apply to every student and family enrolled at Premier Music Academy. By enrolling, paying tuition, or attending lessons, you accept these policies — whether or not you have separately signed or checked a box to say so. Please read carefully and keep a copy for your records; we’re always glad to walk through any part of it with you.

Why the 25th matters

Anything that reduces what you owe us — disenrolling, holding, or downgrading — must reach us by the 25th, because that is when the following month’s tuition is charged and your instructor’s schedule and pay are set. Anything that adds to your enrollment we’ll accommodate on much shorter notice, gladly.

Where to Send Requests: The Office, Not Your Instructor

All scheduling changes, cancellations, holds, plan changes, disenrollment notices, and billing questions must go through the Office. Not to your instructor — in person, by text, or in the studio doorway.

This isn’t bureaucracy. Your instructor doesn’t have access to the schedule system, the billing system, or the room calendar, and can’t see whether the time you’re asking for is free or already promised to someone else. When a change is arranged directly with an instructor, it doesn’t get recorded, doesn’t reach billing, and doesn’t reach the person covering the front desk on a day your instructor is out — and the family who ends up standing in an empty lobby is usually you.

The rule

A change discussed with an instructor is not in effect until the Office confirms it in writing. Instructors are not authorized to approve schedule changes, waive fees, grant makeup lessons, approve holds, or accept disenrollment notice. If your instructor agrees to something in good faith and the Office hasn’t confirmed it, the change has not been made, and your original schedule and billing continue to apply.

Instructors do not share personal contact information for scheduling purposes.

When notice is “received”

Written requests are considered received on the business day they arrive during posted office hours. A message sent after hours, on a weekend, or on a closure day is received on the next business day — which matters if you are close to the 25th. We confirm all enrollment changes in writing within one business day. If you haven’t heard from us, please follow up so we can make sure your request wasn’t missed.

Definitions

Enrollment Year. Your enrollment year is the 12-month period beginning August 1. Lesson allotments, makeup limits, hold eligibility, and schedule-change limits reset at the start of each enrollment year.

Billing Cycle. Tuition is billed monthly as an ongoing subscription, and invoices may be issued well in advance. Payment for each lesson month is due by the 25th of the month before — seven days before the 1st — so that we can meet our obligations to instructors and vendors before the month begins. The 25th is also the cutoff date for changes taking effect the following month — this single date governs disenrollment, holds, and plan downgrades.

The Office. Premier Music Academy administration, reachable at (941) 877-5277 and info@premiermusicschools.com. The Office is the only channel authorized to make binding changes to your enrollment.

Business Day. Monday through Friday, excluding Academy closure days, during posted office hours.

What to Expect at Your Lesson

Lessons are structured, goal-oriented, and tailored to each student’s age, level, and learning style. A typical lesson may include:

  • Warm-ups and technique
  • Review of previous material
  • Introduction of new skills or repertoire
  • Assignment of practice goals for the week

Lessons begin and end at their scheduled times. A student who arrives late receives the remaining portion of their lesson; lessons are not extended to make up for a late arrival.

Your First Lesson & Instructor Fit

We assign your instructor based on instrument, level, availability, and personality fit — and we don’t always get it perfect on the first try. If the match isn’t right after your first lesson, tell the Office within 7 days and we will reassign your student to a different instructor at no charge, subject to availability. After that, instructor change requests follow the process under Changes to Your Enrollment.

Parental Involvement

Parents are always welcome to observe lessons in the instruction suites or relax in the waiting areas. For younger students, parental involvement is especially encouraged at the start or end of lessons so that practice expectations and assignments are clearly understood at home.

Practice Assignments

Students receive clear weekly practice assignments. Consistent practice between lessons is essential for progress and growth. We ask students to practice a minimum of five days per week — this is our expectation for student success, not a condition of enrollment.

Parents are encouraged to review practice assignments with their child each week and support a regular routine. If you have questions or need guidance on practice techniques or repertoire, please reach out to your instructor — we are always happy to help.

Changes to Your Enrollment

We expect schedules to change — kids pick up a sport, work shifts move, a family adds a second student. Here’s how each one works.

Permanent Day or Time Changes

Submit your request to the Office in writing at least 14 days before you’d like the change to take effect. Changes take effect at the start of a billing cycle.

  • Requests are filled subject to instructor, room, and studio availability. We can’t guarantee a specific day or time, and popular after-school slots are often full.
  • Your current slot is released only when your new slot is confirmed. We will never leave you without a lesson time while a request is pending.
  • Once you release a slot, it is offered to other families and cannot be reclaimed.
  • Families may make up to two permanent schedule changes per enrollment year at no charge. Additional changes may be accommodated at the Academy’s discretion.
  • If no acceptable slot is available, your current schedule continues. A schedule change we cannot fill is not grounds for disenrollment outside the normal notice period.

Instructor Change Requests

You may request a different instructor by writing to the Office with at least 14 days’ notice. We’ll do our best, but instructor changes depend on availability and usually mean a different day or time as well.

We’d genuinely rather hear about a problem than lose you over one — if something isn’t working, tell us early and specifically. Most instructor concerns are solvable, and the ones that aren’t are better handled by us than absorbed by your student.

Lesson Length & Plan Changes

Increases — moving from 30 to 45 minutes, adding a second weekly lesson, or upgrading your plan: 7 days’ notice, effective the next billing cycle, prorated if mid-cycle. Subject to availability.

Reductions — moving from 45 to 30 minutes, dropping a lesson, or moving to a lower-tier plan: notice by the 25th, effective the 1st of the month after next — the same timeline as disenrollment.

Why reductions take longer

A reduction lowers your instructor’s committed, scheduled income, and they’re entitled to the same notice a disenrollment gives them. It also keeps a downgrade from being used as a back door around the notice period.

Moving to a No-Makeup plan is a reduction and follows the reduction timeline above. Your makeup terms change on the effective date, not the request date.

Switching Instrument or Program

Changing instruments (piano to guitar), or moving between private, semi-private, and group formats, is handled as a schedule change: 14 days’ written notice to the Office, subject to availability, effective at the start of a billing cycle. If the new program carries a different rate, the rate changes on the effective date. A new materials charge may apply for method books in the new instrument, billed at cost.

Adding a Student

Adding a sibling or second student: 7 days’ notice, effective immediately upon scheduling, with the first partial month prorated. A registration fee applies to each new student. Materials fees apply per student.

One-Time Schedule Swaps

Occasionally we can move a single lesson to a different day or time in the same week. This is a courtesy, offered when the calendar happens to allow it — it is not a right, not guaranteed, and not a substitute for your plan’s makeup terms. Ask the Office as early as you can. A one-time swap that we cannot accommodate becomes a student-initiated cancellation under your plan’s terms.

Lesson Holds — Pausing Your Enrollment

Sometimes life needs a pause — an extended trip, a recovery period, a demanding season, or a few months up north. A hold lets you stop lessons for a defined period while keeping your exact lesson time and instructor.

How a Hold Works

  • Request in writing to the Office by the 25th of the month. Holds begin on the 1st.
  • During a hold, you pay a slot reservation fee of 50% of your monthly tuition. No lessons are delivered during a hold.
  • Holds run in whole calendar months, for a minimum of one month and a maximum of two consecutive months.
  • Each student may take one hold per enrollment year.
  • Your lesson day, time, and instructor are reserved for the full hold period. This is what you are paying for.
  • Lessons resume automatically on the 1st of the month following your hold, at full tuition, in your reserved slot. We’ll confirm in writing before it restarts.

What a Hold Does Not Do

  • A hold does not stop billing entirely. It reduces it. If you need to stop paying altogether, that is disenrollment.
  • Makeup credits do not accrue during a hold, and existing makeup credits do not expire during a hold — they resume their 30-day clock when lessons restart.
  • A hold does not extend your enrollment year or add lessons to your annual allotment.
  • A hold does not pause or extend a disenrollment notice period already underway.
  • Non-payment is not a hold. See Suspension for Non-Payment.

Ending or Changing a Hold

  • Returning early: give the Office 7 days’ notice. We’ll restart you at the next available lesson in your reserved slot, and prorate that month.
  • Extending: request by the 25th, subject to the two-month maximum.
  • Disenrolling during a hold: the standard notice applies — written notice by the 25th, with the following month billed at the reservation rate as your final month.
  • If a hold ends and you do not resume, we will contact you. If we don’t hear back, your enrollment continues at full tuition in your reserved slot until you give notice under the Disenrollment section.

Choosing Not to Hold

You are never required to take a hold. If you stop lessons without a hold or a disenrollment notice, your lesson time is released to another family and you’ll need to re-enroll — with a new registration fee — to secure a new time, which may not be the one you had.

Tuition & Payment

Tuition is billed as a flat monthly subscription that reserves your weekly lesson time year-round, in twelve equal monthly payments. Because your annual tuition is divided evenly across the year, your monthly amount does not change with the number of weeks in a given month. Months with five weeks are not charged extra, and months with a holiday or studio closure are not charged less.

The Academy observes a limited number of closure days each year, published in our annual Studio Calendar, which is available from the Office and forms part of these policies.

Payment is due by the 25th. Tuition is billed monthly as an ongoing subscription, and invoices may be issued well in advance. Payment for each lesson month must reach us no later than the 25th of the month before — seven days before the 1st — so that we can meet our obligations to instructors and vendors before the month begins.

A current credit or debit card must be kept on file at all times — for every family, including families paying with scholarship funds. Autopay runs on the 25th.

Scholarship & Third-Party Funding

If your tuition is paid through Step Up For Students or another scholarship or funding program, your funds must be reserved and applied to your Premier Music Academy account by the 25th — the same deadline that applies to every other family.

Reserving your funds is your responsibility. We cannot reserve them on your behalf. An award that has been granted but not reserved for Premier Music Academy is not a payment.

If funds aren’t reserved in time

If scholarship funds are not reserved and applied by the 25th, the card on file will be charged for the full balance on the 1st. This is exactly why we require a card even when you expect to pay by scholarship — it keeps your student’s lesson time from being suspended while funding is sorted out. If your scholarship organization has confirmed your reservation but their disbursement is delayed, tell the Office before the 25th and we will work with you.

Where tuition has been paid with scholarship funds, any refund due is returned to the scholarship organization rather than to the family, as those programs require.

Your First Month

Enrollment can begin any week. Your first partial month is prorated by the number of lessons scheduled between your start date and the 1st, billed at enrollment along with your registration and materials fees. Full monthly tuition begins the following 1st. Your trial lesson fee is credited against this first invoice.

Payment Authorization

You authorize Premier Music Academy to charge the credit or debit card on file for monthly tuition and for all other amounts owed under these policies — including any tuition not covered by reserved scholarship funds, registration and materials fees, slot reservation fees during a hold, late and declined-payment fees, showcase production fees, release fees, and charges for damage to Academy property. This authorization remains in effect until 30 days after your enrollment ends and all balances are paid.

You are responsible for keeping current card information on file. If a payment is declined, a $25 declined-payment fee applies and you must provide valid payment within five business days.

Account Holder & Households

Each enrollment has one account holder, designated at enrollment, who is responsible for the full balance and who receives all billing and enrollment notices. You may list additional authorized contacts who can bring a student to lessons, speak with instructors, and receive scheduling notices.

Where a student’s parents maintain separate households, the Academy bills one account holder for the full amount. We are not able to split invoices between households, bill two cards, or apportion tuition. We are also not able to mediate disagreements between households about payment or attendance — a change to who is billed requires written direction from the current account holder.

Both parents or guardians are welcome at lessons and events unless you provide us with a court order that restricts contact, in which case please give the Office a copy so we can honor it accurately.

Changes to Tuition & Policies

Tuition rates and fees may be adjusted from time to time. We will give you at least 30 days’ written notice before any change to your monthly tuition takes effect, and continued enrollment after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new rate.

We may update these Studio Policies at any time. The current version is always posted at premiermusicacademy.com/policies, and we will communicate material changes by email or text with at least 30 days’ notice.

Payment Disputes

If you believe there is an error on your invoice, please contact us within 30 days so we can resolve it directly — we’d much rather fix it ourselves than have you go through your bank. You agree to contact the Academy before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your card issuer for services that were made available to you. A chargeback filed for services provided will result in a $35 administrative fee and may result in suspension of enrollment until the balance is resolved.

Discounts, Referral & Promotional Credits

Sibling, referral, and promotional discounts and credits are offered at the Academy’s discretion. Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, cannot be redeemed for a refund, may not be combined with other offers unless stated, and are forfeited upon disenrollment. Referral credits are applied to a future invoice after the referred family completes their first full month of paid enrollment. Any discount may be modified or discontinued with 30 days’ written notice.

Showcase Production FeeAnnounced per eventPer performing student, per event. Optional, announced at least 30 days in advance. Non-refundable once paid.

Permanent schedule changes, instructor changes, and program switches within the stated limits carry no fee.

Suspension for Non-Payment

If your account remains unpaid 15 days after the due date, lessons will be suspended. Tuition continues to accrue at the full rate during suspension and your lesson time remains reserved. Suspension is not a hold, a pause, or a disenrollment; it does not reduce your balance, and it does not satisfy the disenrollment notice requirement below.

Termination for Non-Payment

If your account remains unpaid 30 days after the due date, we may terminate your enrollment and release your lesson time. You remain responsible for all amounts accrued through the end of your notice period, and for reasonable costs of collection, including collection agency fees and reasonable attorney’s fees.

If you’re having a difficult month, please talk to us before it reaches this point. A hold costs far less than a suspension, and we can often work something out — but only if we hear from you.

Cancellations & Makeup Lessons

Academy- or Instructor-Initiated Cancellations

If Premier Music Academy or your instructor must cancel a scheduled lesson, you will receive one makeup lesson at no additional charge.

Makeup lessons must be scheduled and completed within 30 days of the missed lesson, subject to instructor and studio availability. Makeup lessons have no cash value, are not transferable, cannot be redeemed for a tuition credit or refund, and expire upon disenrollment. No more than two makeup credits may be outstanding at one time.

Student-Initiated Cancellations

Lesson times are reserved exclusively for your student, and your instructor is compensated for that reserved time whether or not the lesson is attended. Missed lessons, late cancellations, and no-shows are therefore not refunded, credited, or rescheduled, except as expressly provided by your subscription plan.

If your plan includes makeup lessons, the number available per enrollment year and the advance notice required are stated in your Enrollment Summary. Where your Enrollment Summary is silent, the paragraph above applies. Some plans — including our reduced-rate No-Makeup plans — do not include any student-initiated makeup lessons; your Enrollment Summary will state this clearly.

A student who does not arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time is considered a no-show, and the lesson is forfeited with no credit or makeup.

Cancellation requests go to the Office, not to your instructor. A cancellation is recorded when the Office receives it.

Illness

Please keep your student home if they have a fever, are actively contagious, or have vomited within the previous 24 hours. Illness-related absences are student-initiated cancellations and are handled under your plan’s terms above. If your student will be out for an extended period, talk to the Office about a hold.

Extended Absence

A student who misses three consecutive lessons without contacting the Office remains enrolled and billed, and their slot remains reserved. We will reach out. If we can’t reach you, your enrollment continues until you give notice under the Disenrollment section — we will not disenroll you on assumption, and we will not release your slot without hearing from you.

Closures Beyond Our Control

If the Academy must close or suspend lessons due to severe weather, natural disaster, public health order, utility or facility failure, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control, tuition remains due and is not refunded or prorated. Where practical, we will offer affected lessons in an online format, and a lesson delivered online counts as a delivered lesson for all purposes under these policies. Makeup lessons are not guaranteed for closures under this section.

If we’re open

If the Academy is open and you choose not to attend — for weather, road conditions, or any other reason — that is a student-initiated cancellation under your plan’s terms. We announce closures by text and email; if you haven’t received a closure notice, we are open.

The Academy may also deliver lessons online when in-person instruction is impractical — including instructor illness or travel, weather, or a family request approved in advance.

Disenrollment

To disenroll, we require written notice to the Office no later than the 25th day of the month. Your final month of lessons is the month that begins on the 1st following your notice, and tuition for that month will be billed as usual. You remain enrolled and your lesson time remains reserved through the end of that final month.

Two examples

A — Notice received January 20 → February is your final billed month; lessons continue through February 28.
B — Notice received January 27 (after the 25th) → notice applies to the following cycle; March is your final billed month; lessons continue through March 31.

This notice period aligns with our billing cycle, which closes on the 25th, when the following month’s tuition is charged. Because tuition is charged on the 25th, notice given on the 25th will still result in that day’s charge — that month is your final month of lessons, and you are entitled to every lesson in it. The notice period allows us to plan thoughtfully and is out of respect for our instructors, whose livelihood depends on a consistent schedule.

Notice may be submitted by

  • Email to disenrollment@premiermusicschools.com
  • Text to (941) 877-5277
  • The same online method you used to enroll

Notice given to an instructor is not notice to the Academy. Notice is effective when the Office confirms receipt in writing, which we will do within one business day. If you don’t hear from us, please follow up so we can make sure your notice was received.

Your final month. You are entitled to every lesson in your final month and we encourage you to use them — they’re paid for, and it’s a much better goodbye than an empty slot. Unused lessons in a final month are not refunded, credited, or transferable, and outstanding makeup credits expire on your last day.

Immediate Release

If you need to end lessons sooner than the notice period allows, you may request an immediate release by paying a one-time $175 release fee in lieu of your remaining notice-period tuition. This is an option we offer, not a penalty — for many families it costs less than the notice-period tuition and ends the relationship cleanly.

  • Your enrollment and your reserved lesson time end on the date the fee is paid.
  • The release fee is non-refundable and does not apply to accrued unpaid balances, which remain due.
  • Tuition already billed for the current month is not refunded. The release fee replaces future notice-period tuition, not tuition for a month already invoiced.
  • Your slot is released immediately to other families and cannot be reclaimed. Re-enrollment requires a new registration fee and a new lesson time.
  • Outstanding makeup credits and any referral or promotional credits are forfeited.

Release Without Notice Period

We will waive the remaining notice period and the release fee entirely in the following circumstances. Please tell the Office as soon as you can, and provide brief documentation where noted.

  • Relocation more than 50 miles from the Academy, with documentation of the move.
  • Military permanent change of station or deployment orders, with a copy of the orders.
  • Death of the student or the account holder.
  • A medical circumstance that prevents the student from continuing, with a note from a treating provider confirming that lessons should stop. We do not need details, and we won’t ask for any.

In each case, your enrollment ends at the end of the current billed month, and we will refund any tuition billed beyond that. We may also waive notice at our discretion for other significant hardship — it never hurts to ask.

We are always happy to help make transitions as smooth as possible.

Year-Round Lessons

Premier Music Academy offers lessons throughout the entire year, giving students the opportunity to make consistent, uninterrupted progress. Our annual Studio Calendar is available from the Office.

If you need to step away temporarily, a hold is the way to keep your lesson time — see Lesson Holds. Students who stop lessons without an approved hold forfeit their reserved time slot and must re-enroll to secure a new lesson time, which may not be the same day, time, or instructor.

Why continuous enrollment matters

  • Maintain and build on skills developed throughout the year
  • Stay prepared for performances, recitals, and showcases
  • Build lasting confidence, technique, and musical independence
  • Avoid the setbacks that often follow extended breaks

Waitlists

When your preferred day, time, or instructor is unavailable, we’re glad to add you to a waitlist at no charge. Waitlist placement is not a reservation and does not guarantee a slot. We contact waitlisted families in the order received and hold an offered slot for 48 hours before moving to the next family. Currently enrolled students receive priority for schedule changes over new enrollments.

Instructors & Scheduling

Instructor assignment is at the sole discretion of the Academy. Your enrollment is with Premier Music Academy, not with any individual instructor.

When a substitute instructor is available, lessons will remain at their regularly scheduled time. If a substitute is unavailable, that lesson is treated as an Academy-initiated cancellation and one makeup credit is issued. In the event a student’s assigned instructor becomes permanently unavailable, a new instructor will be assigned. We will communicate any changes promptly and work to ensure a smooth transition.

A change of instructor is not grounds for release from the notice period, though we will always try to find you a fit you’re happy with first.

Instructor Relationships

Our instructors are engaged by Premier Music Academy, and all lessons are booked, scheduled, and paid through the Academy. During your enrollment and for 12 months following your last lesson, you agree not to engage any Academy instructor for private instruction outside the Academy.

If you’d like to continue with a particular instructor, please just ask — we can very often accommodate the request within the Academy, and we’d rather find a way to keep you than lose you over scheduling.

Group, Semi-Private & Ensemble Programs

Where you are enrolled in a group class, semi-private lesson, or ensemble, the following applies in addition to everything above.

  • Minimum enrollment. Each class requires a minimum number of students to run, stated at registration. If a class does not reach minimum by its start date, we will offer you a place in another section, a private-lesson alternative at the applicable rate, or a full refund of tuition paid for that class.
  • Dropping below minimum. If enrollment falls below minimum mid-term, we may combine sections, adjust the format, or discontinue the class with 14 days’ notice and a prorated refund of unused tuition.
  • Makeups. Group and ensemble sessions are not eligible for makeup lessons, including for Academy-initiated cancellations, because the class continues without the absent student. Where an entire class session is cancelled by the Academy, we will add a session or extend the term.
  • Partner absence in semi-private. If your semi-private partner is absent, the lesson proceeds as scheduled. If a partner disenrolls, we will pair you with another student where possible; if not, we will offer a private lesson at the applicable rate or a shortened session at the semi-private rate. You’ll have 14 days to choose, and we won’t move you to a higher rate without your written agreement.
  • Placement. Students are placed by level and age. The Academy may move a student to a more appropriate section, in consultation with the family.

Performances & Showcases

Premier Music Academy hosts 2–3 studio showcases per year. Participation is optional but strongly encouraged — showcases are a vital part of each student’s musical education and provide opportunities to:

  • Build confidence and stage presence
  • Develop performance skills and professionalism
  • Set meaningful goals and celebrate progress
  • Gain experience performing in a supportive, encouraging environment

Each showcase features a general theme, announced in advance to guide repertoire selection.

Students who elect to perform pay a per-event production fee covering venue, staffing, equipment, and production costs. Production fees are announced with each event’s details at least 30 days in advance. Production fees are non-refundable once paid, including if the student later withdraws from the event, and may be charged to the card on file. Students who do not participate are not charged a production fee.

Rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and call times are part of participation; a student who misses a required rehearsal may be withdrawn from the program, and the production fee is not refunded. Showcase attendance and behavior expectations extend to family members and guests under Studio Safety & Conduct.

Instruments & Materials

Students with portable instruments (guitar, ukulele, woodwinds, etc.) are strongly encouraged to bring them to each lesson. Having an instrument at home allows students to practice daily, apply new skills immediately, and build confidence between sessions.

While the Academy provides lesson books, families are responsible for bringing them to every session and keeping them in good condition. Lost or damaged lesson books are replaced at cost.

If a student arrives without their instrument or books, the lesson will still proceed — though progress may be limited. We encourage students to come prepared every week.

Personal Property. Students and families are responsible for the care and maintenance of their personal instruments. Premier Music Academy is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged instruments, books, electronics, or other personal property brought to our facility or to any Academy event. Items left behind are held for 30 days and then donated.

Academy Property. Students and families are responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of Academy instruments, equipment, or property damaged through misuse, negligence, or intentional conduct, which may be charged to the card on file.

Studio Safety & Conduct

Premier Music Academy is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment for all students, families, and staff.

  • Students are expected to treat instructors, staff, and fellow students with respect at all times.
  • Disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behavior may, at the Academy’s discretion, result in suspension or termination of enrollment. Tuition for the current billing month is non-refundable in that event.
  • Parents and family members are welcome in the studio and waiting areas. We ask that everyone help maintain a calm, focused atmosphere.
  • These expectations apply to adults as well as students. Abusive, threatening, or harassing conduct toward staff or other families — in person, by phone, by text, or online — may result in immediate termination of enrollment.
  • Students should arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage.

The Academy reserves the right to terminate enrollment at any time, with or without cause, upon written notice. Where we terminate without cause, we will refund the unused portion of the current month’s tuition.

Arrival, Supervision & Pickup

Students under age 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times while in the building. The Academy does not provide supervision before or after scheduled lesson times. Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your lesson and pick up promptly. A late pickup fee of $15 per 15 minutes applies beginning 10 minutes after the lesson end time.

Siblings and guests waiting in the lobby remain the responsibility of the accompanying adult.

In the Studio

  • No food in instruction suites. Water in a closed container is welcome; other drinks stay in the waiting area.
  • Please silence phones during lessons.
  • Please park in designated spaces and don’t block the entrance or neighboring businesses.
  • Students who are unwell should stay home — see Illness.

Clothing & Expression

We love that our students express themselves! We ask, as a courtesy to everyone, that clothing be free of inappropriate language or imagery.

Concerns & How to Raise Them

If something isn’t working — the instructor fit, the pacing, a billing question, an experience in the lobby — we want to hear it early, while it’s still fixable.

  1. Start with the Office. Call or email; most things are resolved the same day.
  2. If it isn’t resolved, ask for the Director. We will respond within two business days and give you a written answer within five.
  3. Billing disputes should be raised with us within 30 days of the invoice, before your card issuer — see Payment Disputes.

A concern raised and unresolved does not by itself change your notice period or your balance, but it very much changes how we’ll work with you on both. We’d rather solve it than read about it.

Safety, Health & Liability

Assumption of Risk. Music instruction involves physical activity, including repetitive motion, the use of instruments and equipment, and movement within our facility and at performance venues. You acknowledge these inherent risks and accept them on behalf of yourself and your student.

Emergency Care. In the event of a medical emergency, you authorize the Academy to seek emergency medical treatment for your student and to contact the emergency contacts listed on your enrollment form. You are responsible for any resulting costs. Please notify us in writing of any allergy, medical condition, or accommodation need relevant to your student’s safe participation.

Accommodations. We welcome students of all abilities and will work with you on reasonable accommodations. Please tell the Office what your student needs at enrollment so we can set them up well from the first lesson.

Limitation of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Academy’s total liability arising out of or relating to your enrollment shall not exceed the total tuition and fees paid to the Academy in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Contact & Communication

For questions, scheduling, or general inquiries, the Office is the best way to reach both administration and your instructor. We aim to respond to all messages within one business day.

  • Office Phone / Text: (941) 877-5277
  • General: info@premiermusicschools.com
  • Disenrollment: disenrollment@premiermusicschools.com
  • Media opt-out: media@premiermusicschools.com

Communications Consent. By enrolling, you consent to receive calls, text messages, and emails from Premier Music Academy at the phone number and email address you provide — including messages sent using automated technology — regarding scheduling, billing, events, and Academy news. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of text messages; please note that opting out may affect our ability to send you scheduling and billing notices.

Keeping your information current. Please tell the Office promptly when your phone number, email, address, card on file, or emergency contacts change. Notices sent to the contact information on file are considered delivered.

Pet Policy

No pets are permitted inside Premier Music Academy, including studios, waiting areas, restrooms, and all common areas. Exceptions are made for service animals as defined by the ADA. Advance notice is appreciated and helps us prepare, but is not required.

Photography & Media

Premier Music Academy loves to celebrate our students and share their accomplishments with our community.

  • You grant the Academy a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to use photographs and video of your student for Academy promotional purposes, including our website, social media, newsletters, and printed materials.
  • We do not share photos or footage with outside parties or for any commercial use beyond Academy promotions.
  • To opt out, contact us in writing at media@premiermusicschools.com or text (941) 877-5277. Opting out applies going forward to individual features of your student. It does not require removal of materials already published, and does not extend to incidental appearances in group photographs, audience footage, or wide shots of Academy events.
  • Families may photograph or record their own student. Please do not photograph, record, or post images of other students without their family’s permission, and please do not record lessons without your instructor’s advance permission.

Privacy. Payment information is processed and stored by our payment processor; the Academy does not retain full card numbers. Student information is used only to operate the Academy and is not sold or shared with outside parties.

General Terms

Entire Agreement. These Studio Policies, together with your Enrollment Summary, subscription plan details, and the annual Studio Calendar, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Academy and supersede any prior verbal or written representations. Where your Enrollment Summary and these policies conflict, your Enrollment Summary controls as to plan-specific cancellation and makeup terms; these policies control in all other respects.

Authority to Bind. No employee or instructor other than the Director or authorized Office staff may waive, modify, or add to these policies. Any waiver or modification must be in writing from the Office to be effective.

No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision on any occasion does not waive our right to enforce it later.

Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

Assignment. We may assign these policies in connection with a sale, merger, or reorganization of the Academy. You may not assign your enrollment to another family or student.

Survival. The provisions on payment authorization, outstanding balances, limitation of liability, instructor relationships, media license, and governing law survive the end of your enrollment.

Governing Law & Venue. These policies are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Manatee County, Florida.

Acceptance

You accept these policies by enrolling, paying tuition, or attending lessons — whether or not you have separately signed or checked a box to say so. Where you do affirmatively accept them at enrollment, we record that acceptance with your enrollment record. Your continued enrollment after we have given you notice of these policies, or of any update to them, confirms your agreement to the policies then in effect.

I have read and agree to the Premier Music Academy Studio Policies, last revised July 30, 2026.

Thank you for being part of our musical family. By following these policies, you help ensure that every student can focus on learning, growing, and enjoying the full Premier Music Academy experience.
